Today is mine and Lori's 10 year wedding anniversary.  Needless to say, I miss her so much.  I wanted to share a story from the other night.  After putting Lilly to bed, going through the same nightly ritual of reading books, tucking her in and making sure that all of her "friends" (stuffed animals) were in place, I said good night.

It is not unusual for Lilly to be up for awhile after she goes to bed.  Sometimes she plays with her stuffed animals, sometimes she reads books.  One time recently, she had all of her stuffed animals lined up on the bed and she was conducting school for them.  So on this night, when I went off into the bathroom, it was not surprising to me that I could hear her yapping away.  Probably reading a book or playing with her stuffed animals.  She was chatting a mile a minute.  And even though I couldn't hear exactly what she was saying, it brought a smile to my face.  I could picture her on the other side of the door, sitting up in bed, book in hand and animals sitting at the ready.

About 10 minutes or more passed when finally I opened the door to take a look.  And this was a surprise as Lilly was laying down right where I left her.  Under the covers, with her sleeping bag being used as a comforter.  Her head was laying on the pillow and the lights were still off.  If not for the continuous chatter, you would have thought she was asleep.

"What are you doing Lilly?" I asked her.

"I'm telling Mommy a story!" She proudly replied, with a smile so cute and innocent.

"You are?" "What is it about?"

Although she didn't tell me what the story was about, and I was somewhat aggravated at myself for not putting a closer ear to the door, Lilly said to Me, "Mommy called me a beautiful butterfly."

"Good night Lilly, You know Mommy Loves you VERY Much"

"I know, I love you."
