Happy Anniversary

Well, happy Anniversary.  I couldn't help but think that the best way to spend our wedding anniversary would be to listen to Lori talk.  So today I am posting another "Living For Today" radio show with your host, Lori Lyn along  with Teresa Beverly.

I didn't have a lot of time to sort through the hundreds of tapes, so this one is more the luck of the draw.  Fortunately, it is somewhat relevant in that there are references to October and being close to Halloween.

Just as has been the case with each previous show I have listened to, I am amazed at the way Lori is able to keep my attention even when talking about topics that have zero interest to me.  And the "Living for Today" theme song is as uplifting as ever.  I recall the days/weeks that led up to Lori starting this show.  I recall the determination she had in finding the right music.  I remember how she would play them for me over and over again and I recall not really caring too much which music she picked.  At the time, the music choice seemed so insignificant to me.

Lori would want to talk about the music or have me listen to choices and I would challenge her with things like "How about we talk about what your show is going to be about".  But that never phased her.  Choosing the music was extremely important.  Today, I am thankful for her passion toward it.  If at any point in my life I was to hear this show music, I will always smile and think of her.  The music is perfect!

The details.  Ah, the details.  It is the same attention to detail that made our wedding so special thirteen years ago.  Most weddings have incredible amounts of planning and ours was no different.  I just wish now that I paid a little more attention to the details.  They were there at every step, and Lori dragged me along through the process.  There are some I can recall and there are probably countless others that I can't.  Details.

Invitations including itinerary of weekend events.  Include list of hotel options.  Include maps.   Include list of things that guests can do outside of wedding related activities.  Rehearsal dinner.  Include a take home memento for all friends and family.  Plan additional activities for guest who are in town.  Host a second event at the hotel for out of town guests.  Provide food and beverages for all.  Music for the church, include friends performing trumpet and flute live.  Readings hand chosen.  Music hand picked.  Reception…  food stations carefully chosen, specific music chosen, of course our dance…  Shuttles to get everyone to and from the hotel.  Not a single detail is missed.  From top hats for the guys and gloves for the girls, every detail was covered.  That is Lori.

So as I stop rambling for a minute, I can tell you that the amount of time that Lori spent on the details is what makes her unique.  So when you listen to the show, you can be assured that not a detail is missed and her youthful enthusiasm is contagious.  It is just wonderful.

Enjoy the show.  Lori and Teresa handle in their own way, a stormy weather day along with the usual information on gardening, food, recipes and tips.  When you are done listening, I hope you are inspired the way I am to be "Living for Today".
